In recent years a number of powerful generational, cultural and economic forces have collided to create a perfect storm that has created one of the most challenging operating environments ever faced by associations.

This has created an opportunity for savvy association leaders to transform their association to move it powerfully forward into the future.

This session would suit association leaders and Board members wanting strategies, pathways forward, and insights on how to achieve this transformation through:

  • sustainably increase membership,
  • creating strong multiple revenue streams,
  • communicating more powerfully and effectively,
  • engaging younger members successfully,
  • enhancing member value,
  • increasing relevance and influence, and
  • creating a happy organisational culture.

Never has it been more important to take action quickly.

Baby Boomers - those most likely to join, renew, and be actively involved in your association – have already started to retire. By 2029 the majority of your Board members and your members will have retired from your association.

Associations who fail to adapt to the meet the needs of their new, younger members – and style of communication and engagement they require - face a slow decline into obscurity as they are replaced by newer, more innovative, more attractive, less bureaucratically-challenged competitors.

In this session delegates will:

  • Understand the significant challenges currently facing membership organisations,
  • Learn the strategies necessary to effectively meet these challenges,
  • Clarify the true value proposition they offer members,
  • Gain a clearer idea of the pathway forward into the future, and
  • Get the motivation to do what needs to be done.

Ample time will be provided for questions and discussion of the issues.
